The provenance of this short dictation is more than a little suspect. One would like to believe that Markito faithfully transcribed and then carefully preserved the Historian's last words, but then Markito seems to have been Egderus' executor as well as his scriptor, and it is not implausible that this was reconstructed long after the fact, just as was Egderus' Testament.
