To anyone who requires that such things as this archive make sense, it were best to skip reading this particular writing, as it completely destroys an otherwise reasonably consistent sequence of events. In every other account of the Historian's movements, including his own, he does not encounter the so-called Remnant until *after* his sojourn in the Good Doctor's torture chamber.

The style is so outrageously bad that even the Scholar at his most distempered could not have written it, despite its purporting to share the same provenance as his other writings, which explains its inclusion here.

However, this fragment of narrative does adumbrate a fascinating conjecture concerning the "real" reason for the Historian's being arrested in the first place...
