The distress impelling Egderus in these last writings is itself distressing, but its cause is impossible to determine. Perhaps the same foreboding that gripped his predecessor has descended on Egderus; but in what would this foreboding consist? What or whom did Egderus have to fear? A definitive answer has yet to be found.
